‘World War III’ to participate in Tallinn Black Nights

Iranian ‘World War III’ is to participate in the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia.

Iranian feature ‘World War III’ has made its way to the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (POFF) in Estonia.

‘World War III’, directed by Houman Seyyedi, will take part in the Best of Fest category at the 26th edition of the POFF.

‘World War III’ tells the story of Shakib who has lost his wife and child in an earthquake.

He works in a place where a movie on the World War is being filmed, and when one of the actors collapses, Shakib has been chosen as his stand-in.

Shakib is allowed to stay in the actor’s fake mansion, but on condition that he doesn’t receive any visitors, but he makes a decision that endangers his fate.

The film is co-written by Seyyedi himself, Arian Vazir-Daftari, and Azad Jafarian.

The cast list of the film includes Mohsen Tanabandeh, Neda Jebreeli, Mahsa Hejazi, and Navid Nosrati.

‘World War III’ received its international premiere at the Venice International Film Festival in Italy. It took part in the festival’s Orizzonti section and managed to grab two awards.

The film was also awarded at the 35th Tokyo International Film Festival in Japan.

‘World War III’ has been selected as Iran’s submission for best international feature at the 2023 Academy Awards.

The Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival is “one of the biggest film festivals in Northern Europe” and one of the most important in the world, according to website of the event.

The 26th edition of the POFF will take place on November 11-27.
